About

The Last Programmers is a multi-author blog platform for engineers building at the intersection of AI and infrastructure. We publish deep dives, share observations, and track the seismic shift happening in software engineering.

Why “The Last Programmers”?

AI is rewriting how code gets built. We might be the last generation to write every line by hand. Instead of lamenting that shift, we're documenting it, learning through it, and sharing what we discover along the way.

The Stack

Our main feed — long-form technical articles and deep dives from practitioners working on real infrastructure problems.

  • AI Infra — GPU clusters, model serving, training pipelines, MLOps, inference at scale
  • Infra AI — AIOps, AI-powered monitoring, automated operations, intelligent scaling
  • Agentic AI — Autonomous agents, tool use, orchestration, agent infrastructure
  • General Infra — Distributed systems, databases, networking, cloud architecture, SRE

The Whispers

Short-form thoughts — observations, predictions, and reflections on where AI and engineering are headed. Less formal, more personal.

The Shift

Our timeline tracking the moment everything changed — AI tool launches, industry shifts, viral moments, and policy decisions rewriting what it means to be a programmer.
